The RLCTX State Convention is fast approaching in Corpus Christi, February 9-10, 2018. We want to make sure you save the date! You don’t want to miss this event! Plan to attend! Make sure your membership is current, or come as a guest for the training and other convention events.
How is 4 months fast approaching?
Dues paying members need to be current at least 30 days prior to the convention date to be certified as delegates with voting power for the RLCTX business portion. However, as always, we invite all Liberty-Minded Texans to attend other convention activities we will have through the weekend. Membership is only required for the business meeting and voting privileges. So, make sure your membership is current in order to certified as a delegate. And like that, we’re at the beginning of January, not to even mention the time that will fly by with the Holidays in November & December!
Additionally, we’re in the process of putting together the statewide resolutions package we have done for the last few cycles. This takes work long before January. As usual, we reach out to our members and friends as well as local parties and other activist groups for what people are considering for the 2018 Republican Party of Texas Platform. If you have something you’re working on for Precinct & State Conventions that you think should reach the masses in Texas, be sure you consider joining the Resolutions Committee. Feel free to contact Wesley Thomas at westhomas@gmail.com with any resolutions you think should be considered as well as joining that committee. If you’re interested or have suggestions on any changes to our Rules, Bylaws or Statements, feel free to reach out to Keith Strahan, who is the chairman of the Bylaws committee at akstrahan@gmail.com. And, if you are looking for joining the hard work of planning events, volunteering, wanting a table for your organization, or perhaps are a candidate that wants to participate, feel free to reach out to Carmen Calderone, Vice Chairman of the RLCTX and Convention Committee Chairman, at VChair@rlctexas.net.
During the past two years, the RCLTX worked hard on civil asset forfeiture & property tax reform during the Texas Legislative Session, as well as many other Liberty initiatives. But, our biggest accomplishment was becoming an official coalition member of the Republican Party of Texas. There hasn’t been a better time than now to be a part of the RLCTX as we look forward to meeting and influencing our party leadership in returning to the foundations of the Republican Party based in Limited Government, Free Market Solutions, and Individual Liberty & Personal Responsibility. Through our position on the Auxiliaries & Coalitions Committee of the Republican Party of Texas, we hope to spread the message of Liberty our party has stood for. We’re excited to bring all of grassroots Texans great training and entertainment as well as conducting business with our members for an even more successful RLCTX in the coming two years.
In liberty,
