Proposed Resolutions for Texas Republican Platform

As you go to your Senate District Conventions this month you’ll have an opportunity to introduce resolutions through your resolutions committee which will ultimately be considered for inclusion in the Texas Republican Party platform.

There are many groups out there proposing resolutions and the usual result of this is that the platform is a mish-mash of confusing and contradictory positions.  While we’d like to see the platform simplified, it’s also important that liberty issues be reflected in its content.

So we’ve gone through various proposed resolutions and would like to encourage you to consider submitting some or all of a small group of the eight best pro-liberty amendments, including the following topics:

RESOLUTION
TO SIMPLIFY THE TEXAS REPUBLICAN PLATFORM
Proposes limiting the platform to 10 planks.

RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE TRANSPORTATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION
Proposes limiting search criteria used by the TSA.

RESOLUTION SUPPORTING EQUAL TREATMENT UNDER THE LAW
Proposes a policy of tolerance and equal legal status for minority groups.

RESOLUTION OPPOSING AGENDA 21
Proposes protection for property rights.

RESOLUTION ON GAMING IN TEXAS
Proposes expansion of private gaming options.

RESOLUTION ON INTERNET RIGHTS AND SECURITY
Opposes legislation like SOPA/PIPA.

RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT SCHOOL CHOICE
Supports a simple voucher system for school students.

RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS
Opposes efforts to reinstate unconstitutional sodomy law.

RESOLUTION REGARDING PRIVACY RIGHTS IN TEXAS
Strong resolution against the military detention and federal laws which abuse civil liberties.
